The short life of Clare Bosatta (1858-1887), born Dina, was marked by the encounter with S. Luigi Guanella.
It happened when she was already on her way to religious life. In fact, the young woman, after working in her father's silk mills in Pianello, had entered the Canossian Sisters, but she had then returned home because she was deemed unfit for religious life. Following the example of her sister Marcellina, she had joined the Pious Union of the Daughters of Mary, founded in Pianello by the parish priest Don Carlo Coppini. When the parish priest, who had given birth to the association, died, Don Guanella took over and transformed the Pious Union into a religious congregation of the Daughters of St. Mary of Providence. In 1886 Sister Chiara was sent by Don Guanella to Como as the cornerstone of the new Work.
Falling ill with tuberculosis, she was taken back to Pianello where she died on 20 April 1887. She is venerated, together with Don Guanella, in the Sanctuary of the Sacred Heart in Como. She was beatified by John Paul II in 1991.
