Superior from 1958 - 1964

Don Carlo De Ambroggi was always at the service of the Congregation. Not only in Italy and Spain, but for 12 years also in Latin America.

Elected Superior in the IX General Chapter of 1958, he set himself the goal, above all, of being the spiritual guide of the Congregation. He did not neglect the expansion of the Opera; in fact, with him begins the presence of the Servants of Charity in the United States of America; but his primary concern was "the renewal or rather the improvement" of the spiritual life and religious formation of the confreres. Just scroll through the titles of the letters he published in Charitas: poverty, fraternal charity, the work of works, vocations, chastity, our duties towards the Congregation, the will of the Father, oboedientia et pax, suffer, we are sons of saints, the rule, Divine Providence...
