Superior from 1964 - 1970
Don Armando Budino, in 1958 was preparing to receive heavier responsibilities, in fact he was chosen as Delegate of the Superior General in the Latin American nations of Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay and Chile. Where he spent six years. In 1964, in the X General Chapter, he was elected Superior General of the Congregation. During the years of his intense service he had the joy of seeing the Founder beatified by Paul VI. He made an effort to increase the Work in Italy and abroad, to give a great impetus to the updating of people and structures wanted by the Second Vatican Council, to lead the first Guanellian pilgrimage to the Holy Land. The letters sent to the confreres during this period clearly reveal the delicate and passionate feelings with which he directed the Congregation.
