Don Luigi Orione (1872-1940), a marvelous and ingenious expression of Christian charity, one of the most eminent personalities of the last century for his openly lived Christian faith. He had the temper and heart of the Apostle Paul, tender and sensitive to the point of tears, tireless and courageous to the point of boldness, tenacious and dynamic to the point of heroism. To all he showed the way of goodness. Always ready and bent on the needs of the poor, treasures and precious pearls, he tried to fill the furrows of the earth, full of selfishness and hatred, with love. The heart of this strategist of charity was "without borders because it was dilated by the charity of Christ". This humble son of a road worker proclaimed that "only charity will save the world" and repeated to everyone that "perfect happiness can only be in the perfect dedication of oneself to God and to men, to all men".
