Fundraising continues for the Guanellian Community of Manaus.
Guanellian men and women religious continue unabated to accompany the poor population entrusted to them, in the parish "Nossa Senhora das Graças" in the city of Manaus, the hardest hit in Brazil by the pandemic. Their efforts, thanks to the help of many benefactors, are an incentive to welcome the many forms of poverty that surround them with greater serenity and they thank everyone for this. Their thanks go in a special way to the primary school children of the Istituto S. Agnese di Saronno who, since last Advent and then during Lent, have done their utmost in their commitment to "lend a hand".

  • A window to overlook the great good that the Lord in his Mercy and Providence is working everywhere on the five continents where He is at work also using our hands and our poverty
  • A window not only to sweep over a vast horizon but above all to let the wind of a renewed missionary spirit circulate in all our environments, communities and families, which changes us inside and pushes us to go out, to listen, observe, feel and do more and more ours is the cry of the poor who are also today, as at the beginning of the Church's mission, a special echo of the voice of Jesus.
  • An open window that should never be closed. A new opportunity to open up life, build bridges, tear down walls, and to bring each one his own brick in order to build a world a little different from the one we find ourselves in, a world that reflects God's dream and that brings visible the signs of Redemption , signs of new life and resurrection . Everywhere, in everyone, starting with me, with you…
  • The window will become more and more beautiful and luminous if you look for it, look out, let yourself be seen, let yourself be met and involved in the adventures of the mission… We leave the rest to HIM!

 Inspiring principles

  • The Church is missionary by nature. If it were not, it would not be the Church of Christ but one association among many others which would soon end up serving its purpose and disappearing…
  • Through the mission of the Church is Jesus Christ who continues to evangelize and act. Through the proclamation of the Gospel, Jesus always becomes our contemporary again. His resurrection is not a thing of the past: it contains a life force that has penetrated the world.
  • The world essentially needs the gospel of Jesus Christ. He continues his through the Church mission of the Good Samaritan healing the bleeding wounds of humanity; and of Good Shepherd, searching relentlessly for those who have lost their way along twisted and aimless paths.
  • And thank God there is no shortage significant experiences that bear witness to the transforming power of the gospel.

(Pope Francis: Message for WYD 2017)

Why a Center for Missionary Animation of the Congregation.

  • To help us keep alive and strengthen throughout the congregation the joyful awareness and responsibility of participating in the Church and with the Church in the evangelizing mission of Jesus, missionary of the Father, good Samaritan and good shepherd; mission undertaken with passion and audacity by don Guanella and shared by us by the same Spirit.
  • To cultivate in each of our communities, as well as in the Church and in the territory in which we are inserted, the missionary passion that broadens our gaze and heart to ever wider horizons, calling us to leave our own precincts, to offer willingness to get involved for contribute concretely and in various ways to "make charity the heart of the world".
  • To tell and spread, with the humility of servants and the amazement of the 'little ones', how much Providence throughout the world makes us live at the school of the poor, giving personal testimony to the transforming power of the Gospel.
  • To promote and expand the network of solidarity in support of our mission communities in the southern hemisphere or 'in the peripheries', from where the cry of the unprotected poor rises louder and more urgently.

It was born in response to a specific request of the recent XX General Chapter which in Motion 12, voted and approved, is expressed as follows:

"Let the Guanellian Center for Missionary Animation (CMG) be given life as an organism dependent on the General Council which serves to stimulate, support and spread missionary sensitivity and spirituality in all the geographical areas of the Congregation, networking with the Provinces."

As a body of the General Council, it places itself and acts in the perspective of "think globaly, act localy", constantly interacting from the center with all the realities of the vast geography of the congregation, speaking concretely with the Provinces\Delegations through their respective Referents for animation missionary.
