Born in Cles (Trento) on 31 August 1869.
Died in Rome on January 9, 1947.

Bernardino Gabos took on the habit of the Friars Minor on 31 October 1884, assuming the name of Ugolino. He made his solemn profession on November 12, 1888, and was ordained a priest on April 12, 1891. Decorated with goodness, meekness and prudence, he spent most of his life in Rome in the delicate ministry of penitentiary at St. John Lateran.

Father Gabos, trained in the convent of Dongo, certainly knew don Guanella as demonstrated by an episode recounted during the beatification processes by Msgr. Ludovico Antomelli who, while he was superior of the Lombard province, had to suspend construction work on the basilica of S. Antonio in 1905. Father Ugolino, seeing his confrere in difficulty, without his knowledge went to call don Guanella, who, observing the construction site at a standstill and asking for the reason, reproached Father Antomelli for not having faith in Providence and convinced him to resume the work.
