Born in Villastanza di Parabiago (Milan) on November 17, 1878.
Died in the nursing home of Cavaso del Tomba (Treviso) on February 6, 1930.
After completing his philosophical studies in the diocesan seminary of Monza, he entered the Scalabrinian congregation in first theology and in 1903 he was ordained a priest by Msgr. Scalabrini in Piacenza. He left for the missions of Brazil, destined as father Consoni's coadjutor at the orphanage of S. Paolo. Returning to Italy for health reasons in 1913, he was assigned to the apostolic house of Crespano del Grappa, where he took care of the local secretariat of the «Italica Gens», providing instructions to the emigrants of the area.
As he had already done with Father Paolo Novati in 1913, Don Guanella welcomed this missionary sick with tuberculosis in S. Maria di Lora in March 1914. During his stay in the Guanellian house, Father Capello addressed several letters to his superior general, Father Domenico Vicentini, testifying to the concern of Don Guanella who, on March 27, wanted to personally accompany the somewhat improved missionary back to Piacenza.
