Born in Minerbio (Bologna) on April 17, 1850.
Died in Dongo (Como) on April 17, 1900.

Leopoldo Beninsegni took on the habit of the Friars Minor on 14 September 1876, assuming the name of Angelo. He made his solemn profession on 17 September 1880 and was ordained a priest on 8 April 1882. He was for many years master of the theological clerics of the convent of Dongo.

Fr. Angelo da Minerbio, probably in 1886, brought to Pianello Lario, to Don Guanella, a group of students from the convent of Dongo, among whom was *Lodovico Antomelli, telling them: "Now, let's go find a saint". The impression made by the young Franciscans, Antomelli assured, did not disappoint expectations.
