Born in Milan on March 12, 1840.
Died in Mantua on November 13, 1928.
Ordained a priest on 15 August 1862, he entered the Oblates of St. Charles in 1884, then was parish priest at the Holy Sepulcher in Milan, superior of the house of St. Charles in 1891, provost general of the oblates in 1894. Elected bishop of Mantua on 18 March 1895, he ruled the diocese until his death.
Towards the end of 1912, the *parish of S. Giuseppe al Trionfale received a «comforting and welcome» visit from Monsignor Origo. On the occasion of Don Guanella's illness, the bishop of Mantua assured him that he prayed "with all his heart" so that the Lord would restore health to the venerable sick man. After his death, deeply saddened by the disappearance of the "faithful servant", he sent his disciples words of resignation and hope that from heaven the father would watch over his children.
