Born in Begato di Rivarolo Ligure (Genoa) on 2 July 1856.
Died in Seregno (Milan) on August 10, 1928.
He entered the Benedictine Congregation of Monte Oliveto Maggiore at a very young age and made his monastic profession on 9 March 1875. Ordained a priest in 1879, on 1 August 1884 he was sent to Seregno to assist a small community of young workers established at the oratory of S. Rocco . He was elected first prior of the monastery of S. Benedetto di Seregno in February 1895 and first abbot in 1897. Elected in August 1913 coadjutor "with right of succession" of the abbot Ildebrando Polliuti, in September 1917 he assumed the office of general abbot of the Congregation Olivetana, which he held until his death.
Don *Giovanni Battista Trussoni numbered Abbot Parodi among the characters who believed Don Guanella to be a saint.
