On Monday 22 September, the week of meetings between the General Council and the Provincials and Delegates of our Congregation began with Holy Mass in the chapel of the General House.
The Father General, taking inspiration from today's Word of God, invited superiors to recognize that they are called to a service of authority not because they are better than others but because they are called by the Spirit to exercise a service to help our communities (with their strengths and weaknesses) to shine in the witness of charity towards everyone we meet on our path, especially towards those left behind in life.
Although small in number, we can never forget to be shining examples of charity with the charisma of Don Guanella.
It will therefore be important to invoke the gift of the Spirit to be able to interpret and implement what the Final Document of the XXI General Chapter suggests and thus draft the program for the next five-year term of government.
Our lives and those of our communities will be better if each of us is capable of "pleasing God," as the venerable Monsignor Aurelio Bacciarini, whose 90th death anniversary we commemorate this year, once urged us.
