On July 16, 2025, the Feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, at 10.00:XNUMX a.m., the two clerics, Br. Antony Tran Van Luc, from Nghe An, Vietnam, and Br. Sergie Barbacena, originally from Palanas, Masbate, Philippines, made their first profession before Fr. David Anbu, SdC, Delegate Superior, at the Shrine of Santa Barbara, Parish of the Holy Family, in Santa Barbara, Pangasinan.
The homily, given by Fr. Kulandai, focused on the call to religious life, recalling the teachings of our founder, Blessed Don Luigi Guanella, who urged Guanellians to "sanctify themselves and sanctify others" and that the vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience serve to achieve this. He emphasized the importance of a life of prayer as the foundation and fraternal community life as the foundation for living them.
The celebration was attended by Guanellian priests from various communities in the Philippines, Guanellian nuns, other priests and religious sisters, diocesan clergy, Guanellian lay cooperators, the Pious Union of Saint Joseph, young Guanellians, and our elderly beneficiaries, for a total of approximately 150 participants. The event concluded with a fraternal agape shared in the community.
Let us continue to support our newly professed brothers with personal prayer.
