On Saturday 1 March 2025 the Archbishop of Cosenza-Bisignano, Monsignor Giovanni Checchinato, dedicated the new altar in the church of Santa Maria of Jerusalem, at the center of the Guanellian female work of Cosenza, known as the Convent of the Cappuccinelle.
In his homily at the Mass, the Archbishop offered a profound message, urging those present to recognize in each person a “spiritual altar” built by the Lord, and inviting everyone to live their faith in everyday life. The superior of the Casa Divina Provvidenza, Sister Giustina Valicenti, recalled: «We Guanellian nuns have been here since 1919, when the archbishop of Cosenza, Monsignor Tommaso Trussoni, a native of Fraciscio and a relative of our founder Don Guanella, called us to assist war orphans. Since then we have always been faithful to our task».
